Get the most out of Zedmed

Zedmed offers a range of training options to ensure you are getting the most out of Zedmed. Training is beneficial for both new and experienced Zedmed users and is delivered by our highly knowledgeable team.

On-Site Training

A specialist training consultant will visit your practice and conduct an on-site training session with you and your team. Prior to the session, the training consultant will contact you to develop a training plan that is tailored to your specific needs. These sessions can be held with individual staff or a team to ensure that everyone is on the same level.

Remote training is ideal for short training sessions and small groups. Prior to the session, the training consultant will contact you to develop a training plan that is tailored to your specific needs.

Latest Software Releases

Version 35

Zedmed v35 will include the Medicare Web Services (MWS) claiming and billing modules, which you will need before the end of May deadline.

You will be emailed a link to an online checklist to confirm you understand the upgrade prerequisites and ensure you have a smooth transition to Zedmed v35.

You will then receive an email containing all the information required for you or your 3rd party IT provider to perform the upgrade.

Prior to performing the upgrade, we recommend watching our webinar so you understand the changes to Medicare claiming and billing. Webinar available here. You should also read through our v35 migration guide which will help you be well prepared.

How To Use Zedmed

Zedmed Online Help Documentation Portal

Zedmed is Australian owned and operated. Our Head Office is located in Melbourne with staff based across the country.

Zedmed was established in 1979 and was the first general practice administration software available in Australia.

Our Support Team is available Monday to Friday from 8am – 7pm (5-7pm for emergencies) on 1300 933 000 or support@zedmed.com.au.

Yes, we integrate with a variety of major third-party services, including secure messaging, SMS, medicine database, payments and prescription providers.

No, administration staff are not charged. Licences are based on the number of practitioners using the software, and both full-time and part-time licensing is available.

In most cases, yes. We convert all the major Practice Management Software programs operating in Australia. We can also convert from excel and .csv formats. If unclear, we will conduct a thorough investigation to better understand what data can be migrated to your new Zedmed software.

Medicare, DVA, RTWSA, WorkCover, TAC, and AMA (on request).

Software updates are released approximately every 90 days, ensuring our clients can take advantage of new features and keep up with requirements as soon as possible.

Our software is flexible to grow with your business. We offer branching options, additional licensing for further practitioners, and a large range of setup options allowing individualised practitioner environments.

Zedmed is ideal for general practitioners, allied health and specialist practitioners.

This will depend on the complexity of your individualised project. Most practices take up to approximately 4 weeks.

Both our Training and Support Team will be available to you on go-live day.

Our staff will work closely with you and your IT provider during the onboarding process, and regular touch points are made with you and your staff along the way.

Our Pre-Install Check List questionnaire provides the information we need to setup a unique Zedmed environment which best suits your staff and practice. We can also assist you with filling out any required Medicare applications.

When data is migrated into Zedmed, a trial conversion is performed with a trial data review setup prior to go-live day.

Cloud

No. Zedmed Cloud has the exact same modules and features as On-Premise. Nothing has been removed or changed in any way. There is no difference in the user experience.

No. Zedmed Cloud uses the same client as Zedmed On-Premise. How you work will not change.

No. The per user subscription includes everything. Our SaaS delivery is factored into the price, and you will never incur additional charges for data and bandwidth usage.

Yes. Every database in the Zedmed Cloud is segregated in its own cloud container.

It is stored in ISO 21007 certified data centres in Sydney and Melbourne.

Zedmed Cloud delivers a level of physical and electronic security that’s beyond what a practice can provide. 2FA, encryption, firewall and web proxy technologies protect your connections and data.

All existing Zedmed third-party integrations are supported by Zedmed Cloud and managed for you by Zedmed. You will however need to use Zedmed’s Online Appointments system.

No. The cloud provider only supplies cloud storage. You retain full ownership of your data.

All Zedmed customers retain ownership of their data, and you will receive a full copy of your data if you stop using Zedmed Cloud. These assurances are all included in our Zedmed Cloud agreement.

Yes. All databases are replicated to another data centre every 10 minutes. The databases are also backed up to a SAN every night, and those backups are kept for 7 years.

Yes. Zedmed Cloud data centres are in Australia and ISO27001 certified. They are compliant with data storage and privacy legislation and within the governance of Australian authorities.
